In April 2011, FSCJ’s Dramaworks presented Offices by Ethan Coen, half of the writing team that brought you Blood Simple, Raising Arizona, and The Big Lebowski. Offices is actually a collection of three one-acts all set in an office offering Coen’s skewed perspective on the present-day corporate workplace. In “Peer Review,” a malcontent employee airs his grievances over a poor performance evaluation to his fellow employees. “Homeland Security” offers a riff on the arbitrary and very human nature of politicians in power, and “Struggle Session” follows a chain of hirings and firings resulting in a foul-mouthed bum getting a white-collar job. Offices received its world premiere Off-Broadway at the Atlantic Theatre in May 2009, starring F. Murray Abraham playing several roles.
NOTE: This show is rated R for strong language and sexual content some may find offensive and is not recommended for audiences under 17.
This show ran in the Black Box at FSCJ's Wilson Center for the Arts April 14-17, 2011.
